Erasmus Incoming Students Welcome Day

On Tuesday, 10th October 2023, the Erasmus Incoming Students Welcome Day 2023-2024 was successfully held on the premises of the Ionian University Library.

The Ionian University Department of International and Public Relations welcomed the incoming students and informed them that its door is always open for any anxieties, concerns, questions or simple conversations with the staff.

Then, Ass. Professor of the Department of Foreign Languages, Translation and Interpreting and Erasmus Institutional Coordinator Mr. Ioannis Karras, warmly welcomed the Erasmus students and urged them to live the Erasmus experience to the best of their ability.

The member of the Special Teaching Personnel of the Department of Foreign Languages, Translation and Interpreting and Erasmus Coordinator for Francophone Institutions, Ms Fotini Karlafti, wished the students a unique stay in Corfu.

Professor Mr Stavros Katsios, Holder of the UNESCO Chair, Director of the Laboratory for Geo-cultural Analyses (GeoLab) and Institutional representative at the Scholars at Risk (SAR) network, referred, among others, to the threats to cultural heritage.

The teacher of Modern Greek, Mr. Georgios Poulimenos, encouraged all students to choose the free Greek language lessons with the aim of bringing the students into contact with the native language.  

Representatives of the European Student Network (ESN) of Ionian University attended the event and informed the students about their activities.

Finally, representatives of the Ionian University Library welcomed the students to the library and explained to them how to use the library systems.

The event ended with the International and Public Relations Department staff offering presents to the incoming students.
