As the number of programmes available for financing research activities has been growing steadily, so has the need to update the monitoring and evaluation of such activities. At the same time, the growth in numbers and sophistication of open infrastructures provides the opportunity to meet this need, via services such as the OpenAIRE Monitor. The OpenAIRE Monitor Institutional Dashboard, a tailor-made data and visualization service of OpenAIRE, showcases how the growing repository infrastructure can lead to actionable monitoring of research activities for institutions and other types of organizations. Built upon the OpenAIRE research graph, the Institutional Dashboard allows organizations to get a a 360º view of their publications-datasets-software, monitor their Open Science compliance, discover Open Science trends, see how they fare in EOSC, measure impact, discover trends, connections and collaborations and overall turn data into insights, so as to improve and optimize their future actions. The data from repositories and other content providers, passing through the OpenAIRE Research pipeline to be aggregated, deduplicated, enriched and cleaned, is the stepping stone for providing accurate and timely indicators, and a well-rounded monitoring dashboard (https://monitor.openaire.eu/). This 24x7 presentation will focus on the Institutional Dashboard of the OpenAIRE Monitor, a service that connects data from content providers of research outputs, such as repositories, to actionable KPIs for organizations. We will discuss the different types of indicators and functionalities of the service and the role of repositories in building well-rounded monitoring dashboards.
