Summary: In the recent years, the University of Nicosia has implemented an open access Institutional Repository:(https://repository.unic.ac.cy/) which includes material related to academic research produced at the University of Nicosia. The purpose of the Institutional Repository, managed by the UNIC library, is the collection of all the research activity of the institution as well as the dissemination of scientific research to the scientific community.

This paper will present the implementation of the institutional repository focusing on the production of metadata related to the scientific work produced at the institution, and the display of their digital evidence. At the same time, new techniques will be presented in relation to the historical and current recording of the hierarchical structure of the university (institution, faculties, departments, etc.) as well as the relations within this structure between the different groups.

This will be followed by the connection of the departments of the institution with the staff and the students-researchers who have been connected in the past or are connected with them currently, emphasizing here the type of relationship of the persons with the institution at the same time with the period of this relationship. The presentation will end with new development perspectives of the institutional repository, such as the connection of the academic staff with their research work and the connection of the repository with archival material that has been produced or will be produced by the institution, whether it concerns physical items or concerns items produced exclusively by the institution.
